Living in the 20th century, it’s the time to break gender stereotypes for men who like to pamper themselves and to spree shopping without any judgments.

Since shopping has traditionally been a female activity and most men are shy to buy in traditional brick-and-mortar malls, Shopee - the leading mobile shopping app in Southeast Asia and Taiwan - has emerged to take a big leap to help men’s meticulous concerns when it comes to online shopping.

Macy Castillo Shoppe’s Head of Commercial Business, however, reiterates that they are not exactly disregarding female customers but rather, they aim to highlight male buyer’s needs since girls are known shoppers already.

“We do see a significant amount of our male buyers actually buying skin care that they may not want to admit that they’re buying in the malls, in stores,” Castillo said.

Partnering with trusted brands such as Belo Essentials, HP, SanDisk and Promate, Shoppe expands its product selection to cater various male necessities.

Castillo said, “Apart from gadgets that are widely popular no matter what the age, the shopping behavior of men in the Philippines differs based on age groups.”

Since its launch in 2015 - popular for fashion, beauty and home & living - Shopee is taking big steps to its expansions with over 20 million downloads across seven countries – Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, and Taiwan.
